WHAT IS A MOTOR SKILL?
A motor skill is a learned sequence of movements that combine to produce a smooth, efficient action in order to master a particular task. Gross motor skills require the use of large muscle groups to perform tasks like walking, balancing and running. Fine motor skills require the use of smaller muscle groups to perform tasks that are precise in nature.
